About Us

The instructor for the Sundance Irrigation Training classes will be Mr. Jerry R. Lewis. Jerry is a U.S. Navy Vietnam era veteran serving in Vietnam, Korea, and the Pacific Fleet. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Abilene Christian University with advance hours in Public Administration from Texas A & M University. Having held Texas irrigator license #1251 since 1982, Jerry has also been issued Inspector's license #I-1338 by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. He has served as Director of Parks & Recreation and City Manager for several Texas cities as well as the General Manager of a Texas Municipal Utility District. Jerry was a partner in a water/wastewater service company and, during the last 20 years, has owned and operated two businesses of advertising specialties and landscape/irrigation. As you can see, Jerry has had experience in both public and private businesses. Here's what Jerry has to say about his courses:

"With experience in recreation, I am aware of the necessity to create an 'everyone can be a winner' atmosphere in order to insure quality results. I want to offer classes throughout the state to meet the needs of the irrigators in all regions."

"I know that I can offer a positive educational opportunity for the irrigators and compliment the intent of TCEQ's educational requirements. Too many times, required courses can be boring or uninteresting; however, my emphasis will be on learning and not on merely meeting time requirements or 'teaching the test.'"

Through Sundance Irrigation Training, irrigators can meet TCEQ's course requirements, learn new ideas, rethink old ideas, and have fun in the process. Mr. Jerry R. Lewis has carefully planned his course outlines to provide such training.
